ABOUT BOB

Robert Celecia Photography brings together three distinct bodies of work, all rooted in life on the coast of Troncones and Majahua, Mexico.

Portraits in Paradise offers custom location photography for families, couples, and groups — from reunions and retreats to quiet moments on the beach at sunset. The focus is simple: natural, relaxed photographs that reflect the experience of being here.

The Digital Paintings begin as original photographs and are transformed through a layered, painterly process into bold, colorful works designed for contemporary interiors. Each piece is available as a print on canvas or metal.

El Espíritu del Pueblo is an ongoing black-and-white portrait series documenting the people of this community — everyday moments, work, celebration, and life along the coast. Prints from this series are available, with proceeds supporting Las Hermanas Troncones and Surfers for Strays.

Robert Celecia is a Brooklyn-born photographer and filmmaker who spent more than forty years directing and shooting television commercials in Los Angeles.

After retiring from commercial filmmaking, he turned his focus fully to photography, documenting the people, places, and everyday life around him.

He now divides his time between Majahua, Mexico and the Madison Valley of Montana. His work reflects a filmmaker’s eye for storytelling — capturing quiet moments, character, and the atmosphere of a place.

Robert studied visual arts at Boston University and is the recipient of two Emmy Awards, three NIMA awards, and two Clio awards for cinematography.

WORDS FROM CLIENTS

  • We worked with Bob to take our maternity photos, this was our first pregnancy and I wanted to make sure we captured the moment. Bob made us feel at ease and comfortable during the shoot, laughter and smiles came easy with him behind the lense. He was great at providing direction, making sure our clothes were styled correctly, and any crazy hairs were smoothed into place. He even managed to get a family photo with our dog Goose looking perfectly at the camera! The photos were gorgeous, not over-edited, natural in tone, and the gallery included a blend of color and black and white images. Bob will continue to be a photographer we use to capture our family for years to come!

  • An important function of photographers is to add fragrance to our existence. Just as the main function of painting is to sweeten the image of our lives, Bob Celecia understands this, and my portrait taken by him is a great achievement for both of us.

He captured both me and my food in a way that feels vibrant and true to the spirit of the brand. The images have been a huge asset to my business, elevating our visual identity and helping us connect more deeply with our clients. I couldn’t recommend him more!
